// Biography
Camille Roux is an algorithmic artist and creative coder based in Montpellier, France. A computer engineer by training, he writes algorithms that turn mathematics and physics into organic patterns. Each series is a program able to generate endless unique pieces that no one, not even the artist, can foresee. His long-form generative series have been released on fxhash, gm.studio, Bright Moments and others, and shown with Bright Moments in Venice during the 2024 Biennale.
Camille Roux writes algorithms that blend mathematics, physics and emotion into organic patterns. Each of his series is a program that can generate an endless number of unique pieces, drawn at random the moment they are born: no one, not even the artist, knows in advance what will appear. His role is to shape what the system can become, and to let chance do the rest. He calls it algorithmic art rather than generative art, a term that generative AI has made ambiguous.
Since 2021, he has released long-form series with studios, galleries and platforms such as Bright Moments, gm.studio, 256ART, fxhash, EditArt and SuperRare Labs, collected around the world. With Bright Moments, his series Intricada (2023) was presented in cities including New York, London, Mexico City, Berlin and Tokyo, The Destination (2023) was shown at Bright Moments Paris, and in 2024 he took part in Bright Moments Finale in Venice, during the Biennale, alongside more than sixty artists. The Source (2023), co-created with Matthieu Segret, was selected by gm.studio, and Résilience (2024) was released on Bitcoin with gm.scribe. He also speaks about algorithmic art at French developer conferences, with closing keynotes at DevFest Toulouse and SunnyTech.

About the selection
The five videos come from three series, all drawn in real time with WebGL / GLSL. They are "out of band" editions: generated from new random seeds with the original code, outside the official editions of each series.
Résilience (2024) reflects a slice of life: each edition is marked by events of different shapes and sizes, slowly transformed, like hardships overcome and left behind.
Bright Moments Finale (2024) was created for the closing event of Bright Moments in Venice, during the 2024 Biennale, after a three-year world tour celebrating chance and community through algorithmic art.
Isoline (2026) plays with properties that change from zone to zone. Here the zones are isolines, the lines of equal distance around geometric shapes, like contour lines on a map. Two networks of isolines overlap, each zone with its own ink, stroke weight and margin, with the look of print on paper. It is the project Résilience grew out of.
