Island Mist
Flying over the sea, a group of islands appears on the horizon, partly hidden by mist. Soft clouds drift overhead as sunlight breaks through, bringing the landscape to life.
Island Mist is a fully generative artwork created with JavaScript and p5.js. Inspired by impressionism and pointillism, I developed a painting algorithm that builds the scene with thousands of individual brushstrokes. The bold, unexpected colors draw from fauvism, giving the landscape a slightly surreal, dreamlike feeling.
